My name is Annie, and I’m based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. They say that you don’t choose to work in the ‘Death Trade’ – it chooses you. I can say from my experience, that is exactly how it was for me. I felt inexplicably drawn to working in the industry. I have been through the death of both my parents, and other friends and family members, and the experience has left me wanting to be part of the wave of people, wanting to do death differently.

I hope to empower people to make their own choices around their end of life journey.

I come from a large family, and have experienced deaths, both sudden and expected, during my life to date. When my mother died, 15 years ago, I had a profoundly healing experience. I want to support others in having the same. I don’t proclaim to know everything about death, but will do my very best to provide answers and support wherever I can.

I’m also passionate about co-creating beautiful, meaningful, and healing Funerals Ceremonies. A good send-off can make all the difference in the healing those who are still here.

I’m a member of Natural Death Advocacy Network (NDAN) and the Australian Home Funeral Alliance (AHFA), so my approach is a more natural, and personalised one.

I have done Deathwalker training with Zenith Virago, who challenges our core assumptions about life and dissolve our fears around death.

I have also trained with The Funeral Fix, who are passionate about bringing death and funerals out of the dark ages!

I am also Compassionate Companion volunteer for The Wesley Hospital, sitting with people in their final stages, so nobody dies alone.
