Theatre of the Last Breath

Theatre of the Last Breath is a multidisciplinary immersive theatre piece exploring death, dying, and loss. Collaborating with around artists, including musicians, dancers, spoken word artists, and photographers, the work challenges taboos and invites audiences to reflect on mortality, end-of-life myths, and societal beliefs. I’m raising funds to support artist fees, set design, costumes, and community engagement workshops that will deepen the conversation around death and dying. This project is for anyone open to confronting these universal themes and exploring them through a creative lens. Currently in development, the work will premiere in Brisbane in July 2025, before touring regionally, if all goes to plan.

Theatre of the Last Breath is important because it confronts one of life’s biggest taboos—death—in a creative and empowering way. With so many people unaware of their end-of-life options, this project encourages audiences to reflect on their mortality and rethink myths, fears, and beliefs about dying. At a time when the death-positive movement is growing and our aging population faces complex decisions, this work meets an urgent need for open, meaningful conversations. By supporting this project, you’ll help fund a one-of-a-kind collaboration between artists, create immersive spaces for audiences to engage, and spark vital community discussions. Your support makes it possible to challenge stigma, celebrate diverse perspectives, and contribute to changing the way we approach death. Join us in creating a powerful and transformative experience that will resonate far beyond the stage.
